Statement from the committee
Corona Virus
We would like to assure our staff, clients and volunteers that the current coronavirus situation is in the forefront of our minds at all levels. Due to Government Guidance, the committee have decided until further notice to make changes to a number of services provided by the charity :
TRANSPORT CONTINUES to be provided to families living in RCT to any cancer related hospital appointment – due to the recent Government Guidance many of our volunteers have decided they want a break from volunteering until further notice. Due to limited volunteers, the charity requires 4 working days’ notice for hospital appointments.
Complimentary therapies for carers/clients –– The complimentary therapies held at the cancer Centre will be postponed until further notice from Thursday 19/03/20. The outreach therapies at GP Practises have also been postponed until further notice.
COUNSELLING CONTINUES – one to one counselling has been postponed until further notice. Telephone support will be arranged.
Therapy through Art – postponed until further notice
Creative Workshops – at the cancer Centre – postponed until further notice.
Home Visits – postponed from Thursday 19/03/20
CHARITY SHOPS REMAIN OPEN- Pontypridd open – Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. Mountain Ash Charity shop open – Monday, Tuesday am, Wednesday, Thursday am and Friday
As you are aware, the spread of the virus is unpredictable and updates are being monitored on a regular basis. We have implemented Government and NHS guidelines to protect our families using the services of the charity, staff and volunteers.
Our priority is towards the health and well being of the families utilising Rowan Tree Cancer Care and everyone involved on a daily basis.
