Meryl Davies was a local lady living in Abercynon and she was a former client of the Cancer Care Society. On the closure of Cancer Care Society, Meryl became one of the Directors of Rowan Tree Cancer Care which resumed the good work started by the Cancer Care Society. She strongly believed in the importance of local cancer services and wrote the book to document the history and the challenges faced by setting up a new charity. Throughout the book she emphasises how important it is to work together  and in her words ‘ In unity there is strength’.

The aim was to fill the void and to continue to support the families who were dependent on the service, which is what we do today. You can read the book below.
